Letting talents unveil their full potential

Good leaders want to attract talented people and strive to retain them as much as possible. Often these talents develop fast and they require more challenges and larger responsibilities. As a leader, you want to keep them in your team but also you want them to further develop and contribute in different areas of your company.

How much are you an egoistic (team centered) or altruistic (people centered) leader?

I believe that, in the long term, talent generates talent. If one takes an egoistic approach, maximizing the team performance, this sacrifices the long term talent renewal and can have negative consequences.
I believe that leaders should focus on unveiling the full potential of talented people and this means often that you have to let them go to explore other challenges.

So, as a leader… Let your talents go… It will pay-off in the long term.
