Empathy is about finding echoes of a different individual in yourself. It is the ability to understand and share the feelings of another person. This means that to build empathy you need to be asking questions… plenty of them.
To improve your empathy, you have to get started with yourself. Empathy is a sort of unconditional comprehension. It is a means of deep, vulnerable connection. It is a choice, and it’s a vulnerable choice.
The End of Empathy
Deficiency of empathy is absence of imagination. It simply stands for putting yourself in someone else’s shoes and understanding what they are going through and how they must be feeling. Empathy is imperfect and hard because we’re imperfect and hard. It is at the core of design. It is crucial for designers, much more important in my opinion than the ability to code or do visual design.
Building empathy is about understanding the other individual.
